Sunrise over Korvin Island
island 8 miles long, in Shumagin Is. Var. Korovinskiy, Ostrov, Korovinskyoi. Name published by Capt. Tebenkov as O(srov) Korovinskoi and shown on the Russian Hydrog. Dept. Chart as O(strov) Korovinskiy, presumably for Ivan Korovin of the ship Sv. Troitzka (Holy Trinity), who explored the Aleutian Islands in 1792. The name is derived from the Russian "Krova" meaning "cow".
